Welcome to 5th grade and my Language Arts class! We are going to read some fantastic books this year and do some interesting activities. If you don't like to read now, I hope you will by the time you leave 5th grade. Let's not forget about English and writing, too. We are going to be busy, busy, busy!
Your first blog mission: Tell me what your very favorite book is. Remember: Titles of books start with capital letters except for words like a, an, or, the, etc...

ReplyDelete"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." Explain how this statement was not true for Jarrod. (Someone used words to hurt him, and someone used words to help him.)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever had a similar situation in your life? Tell me about it.
It was not true for Jerrod because when he was a young child, he had to take on a huge responsibility that he wasn't ready for and his parents handled it the wrong way. They gave him and his brother up. The whole thing upsetted Jerrod and when he got adopted, He took his anger out by hurting other kids feelings. So that is why that "sticks and stones thing" wasn't true for Jerrod. There was one time in my life when I was being made fun of. I didn't really care but soon it got annoying. I finally stood up to the bully and told him that I didn't really care what he said about me and that its not very christian like to make jokes about other people. He stopped bullying me and we got along. I was happy, I guess he was happy, And I know God was happy.
ReplyDeleteTyping is fun.
ReplyDeleteJerrod seemed like no other kid sometims. He would hurt other kid's feelings. But somehow whenever a kid would say mean things to him it would hurt him.If someone tried to to punch him it wouldent seem to hurt him as much. His parent's gave him a hard childlife by saying mean things to him .Which made him show his feelings by beating other kids up.One day someone left me out at camp by not including me in thier group. We wrote each other notes telling eachother our feelings. At the end we all worked it out and now we are good friends again.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of
ReplyDeleteFire.
Jerrod was a bully, beacause his parents always treated him badly. They blamed him for things he did't do, and never said anything nice to him. Because his parents treated him badly, he treated other people the same way. Sometimes people call me names and it makes me mad. I want to retaliate, but the bible says to treat others the way you want to be treated.
